Athletes.

At Pt england school we had athletes. we did six activity like discus shot put. javelin sack race tug of war high jump. and 100 meter sprint also  courses. at athletes     day first activity was dicus we had 30 mins then we all needed to switch next activity. Only the year 8 needed to change to the next activity. But some year siven change as well. ow next activity was javelin the teacher was mr Barks he was the man at jucking it. first one was isara but he did it make it then it was going on and on and on.

In till we needed to switch to our next activity which was sack racing and tug of will

first one was sack racing then it was tug of will. it was fun because people was falling over all the time.

Why class rules are at school?

One of the most important things to have at school are rules. They are to help you to keep safe. In school and out of school. If there were no known rules everybody will break into schools and steal stuff. Kids will have fights and not get stuff done. There might be heaps of Police around the school.

The school would look messy and ugly. People might chuck bottles at windows. Maybe they will be tagging on walls and it will look ugly as. The police might ban the school and let no one into the school.

Kyal Cross Country

On the day of the cross country I felt nervous for the run. But l knew I was going to come somewhere but not last. We had it at our school Pt England School. People were watching, like families, teachers, everybody was there. We had it on Thursday 11th of September.

When the whole school started cross country there was year 1 to year 8. We needed to run in different year groups. There were teachers in different checkpoints along the course. There was 1 to 24. There were 4 house teams like yellow, green, red and blue. The names are Te Arawa, Tainui, Matatua and Takitimu.

When I got halfway to the 2nd lap l just ran fast. And tried my hardest to run fast. When I finish the race I was happy. Because we don’t have to run again for cross country praise. When we finish the run we all had a glass of water. Then after than we all sit in our groups. And finally we had finish for the last day.

I felt very tired and my heart was pumping hard as. When l had a glass of water l could it breath. I was so so so so tired.

Kyal Ban Plastic Bags

Dear Prime Minister John Key

I am writing this letter to tell you that you should ban plastic bags. I think that plastic bags are so bad because it will kill all of the sea animals. It might make the sea polluted . Did you know that 1 billion plastic bags are used in NZ each year?

People get plastic bags from shops, markets, Shopping centres, and The WareHouse.  They pay 10 cents for one plastic bag each. Sometimes you get some plastic bags for free. It makes rubbish on the road, rivers, and trees.

I think that people should use cloth bags.

Lest We Forget 1918 War

On Monday August the 4th we had a special assembly. It was about war back in 1914. Mrs Flavelle’s grandad was in the war and Mr Burt’s grandad was in the war too. Someone was putting up the flag on the pole to respect the soldiers who died and who made it home safe  to their families.

At Gallipoli they needed to fight in the mud, because everything was blown up  from the soldiers. Trees were on the ground and animals were dead on the mud. It had gun shots on the animals. I was so sad.

Many soldiers died in the war.

Kyal Commonwealth Samoa

Intro: SAMOA

The population of Samoa is 193,161. The capital city is called Apia. Most Samoan people live on the main islands. It’s a beautiful country in the South Pacific & Oceania. Samoa has got many athletes in the Commonwealth games.

From Boxing, Weightlifting, Swimming, Netball, Running and Rugby. Samoa won some gold medals some bronze medals and silver medals in the past. The Flag is blue red with white stars.

 

Kyal Holidays 2014

In the holidays I went to my cousins  house. We were playing Playstation 3. We played Watch Dogs, Grand Theft Auto and Black Ops 2. I only stayed there for 4 days, then I went back home it was alright there.

When I got back home I went to my friends house and we played on Playstation 4.  We played heaps of games, around about 8 games. There are 5 new release games like Watch dogs, NBA 2014, 2K14, Infamous 2 and Beyond 3.

Then after that we went to have a feed so we had KFC for lunch. It was delicious and tasty. Then when we were finished they took me back home. It was a fantastic day. It was like 6 hours because it was so fast and it went dark fast.

When I got dropped off I felt tired so I just jumped into bed to have a sleep.

Echolocation, also called bio sonar is used by several kinds of animals like bats and whales. Dolphins also use echolocation. Animals make sounds and listen to the echoes of those echoes that return from objects near them. They use these echoes to locate and identify the object

Ben Underwood could not see with his eyes but he could see by using sound. When sound rebounded off objects he knew where he was going. He could hear cars from far away and that would trigger sound waves. Ben Underwood used prosthetic (fake) eyes and he can skate, ride a bike and shoot a basketball inside a basketball hoop.

       State Of Origin League

State of origin is about a team Called Queensland & New South Wales. QLD & NSW play rugby league but New South Wales won the tough game. NSW score was 21 & QLD score was 14. They versed last week on Wednesday QLD could of got it but the game was over. When the game was over the ref blowed the whistle at 80 mins. NSW got heaps of run a way

but QLD was tackling heaps of NSW people.

How To Play Rugby And To Listen To The Coach

To play rugby you will need a rugby ball. You will need a coach for rugby. You have to listen to the coach and the rules he gives you like stepping pass the ball score a try how to kick a ball through a goal post and how to score it right.

With the ball you need to kick the ball and you need to catch the ball with your hands. If you think that you are ready to play rugby you have to work hard. And you have to try to get in a team.

People who learn how to play and knows all of the moves they can go to the toumament at and you can also win the cup.

Experiment (procedure):

e.g. Step 1 - First hold a flat piece of paper against your ear. Block your other ear with your hand. Get your partner to speak to you. What is the sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 2 - Next, roll the piece of paper into a funnel shape. Put the funnel against your ear. Face the funnel towards your partner and listen to them speak. What does it sound like? Can you hear clearly?

Step 3 - Next, face the funnel to the side while your partner speaks to you. Does it make a difference to the sound that you can hear?

Step 4 - Put some cotton balls or tissue paper into the funnel to block one end. Does it make a difference to the sound you hear? Is the sound quality the same?

Step 5 - Next, roll the piece of paper up and face one end of the paper roll towards your partner. Listen to your partner speak. Is there a difference to the sound you hear?

Step 6 - Finally, turn to the side with your paper roll and listen to your partner speak. What is the sound like?

When Miss Lagitupu put the funnel up to my ear she sounded louder.

When we used the flat piece of paper it didn’t make a difference. When we used the funnel the sound was louder and clearer. The sound was a bit quieter when the funnel was blocked.

Conclusion

My hypothesis was right because the sound was louder when the funnel was used.

Term 1 Reflection 2014

My highlights this term would have to be My Empathy Movie but I was not there but I my partners did it. It was a highlight because I liked how they acted.

I have made improvements/progress in Writing because I have been finishing off my work and posting it on my blog.

I know this because….I am good at writing because I work hard. My work is also shared on my blog.  

I still need to work hard to improve my Maths And Reading

I know this because…My maths I need to work hard and on reading I have to correct my words.

I am most proud of my efforts to improve my Writing.

My 3 main goals for Term 2 will be

1. Work harder and not waste time.

Fia Fia Kyal

On April the 9th on Wednesday 2014 we had the most best night. The dances we performed and practiced every Thursday or Friday was for Fia Fia.

We had lots of different groups. some we practice it Like Jump Jam or Hip Hop or fiji or cook Island and Tongan.I think we had 6 weeks to practice in our group.

At 4:30pm on Fia Fia night they were selling food but I did not know you have to pay. I thought it was for free.

We started at 7.00 we all went to the changing room To get change. Some people was wearing jeans. Miss King got

the jeans but Mrs Flavell paid for the jeans. After we got changed we watched a movie like for 15.mins Because we were waiting for the show to begin.

We had the most fun night it was cool because all of the groups were fantastic.

On Friday night a movie call ‘Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs 2 was showing on a big screen at Pt England Reserve. Heaps of people was watching The movies. People

was watching the movies then people was always standing up and going to play and come back. It was annoying because

people was getting in my way.

   

It started at 8.30 but at 7.00 everyone started coming to the PT England Reserve. It was fun because I was playing with my friends. Khi Khi and I went to the beach to have a look at

the water some people was having a swim and some people was playing down by the water and by the rooks. Khi Khi and I was running on the sand and Khi Khi fell over because he got cut by a shell and he had a sore on his leg. It was it that big it was small.

Khi Khi and I went home at 9.50 because it was getting boring so Khi Khi wanted to eat so we back home.
